HealPRO®

The HealPRO® is designed to unweight the heel and protect the foot and ankle from developing ulcers. It is especially indicated for patients spending extended periods of time in bed. The HealPRO® maintains the foot and ankle at a right angle to prevent loss of dorsiflexion range and to also assist in limited mobility. The unique design prevents pressure on the toes from bed linens and the CoolFoam liner provides exceptional comfort. An external bootie can be used to cover the sole and toes when the patient is out of bed, and then removed for cleaning and wound management before the patient returns to bed. An optional abductor bar kit can be used with bilateral HealPROs to control internal and external rotation of the hips.

Indications

• Prevention of heel ulcers
• Unloading of pre-existing ulcer on posterior aspect of the calcaneus
• Surgical positioning of the lower limb
• Prevention of lower limb internal or external rotation while patient is supine
• Protection of fragile and compromised skin of the foot and ankle
• Foot drop without contractures
• Patients at risk to lose ankle range of motion secondary to recumbent positioning

Contraindications

• Fixed ankle contractures
• Excessive swelling
• Frequent ambulation
