Pediatric Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO)

Prefabricated pediatric AFO

Prefabricated pediatric AFOs are often used for the prevention of equinous contractures and to enhance mobility for patients with spastic hemiplegia and diplegia. The leafspring design allows for a smoother gait pattern and the low-profile polypropylene fits easily into children’s lace up shoes. It is available in five sizes for boys and girls from 2 months to 6 years of age. With care, the plastic is easily heated for custom fitting to the patient to optimize patient care programs.

Refer to the sizing chart for specifications on calf circumference, foot length, and brace height. This AFO is also available as blanks (i.e., untrimmed, no strap) if more customization is needed.
